Caprivi Mutoya Lodge & Campsite

Situated in a small riverine forest, Caprivi Mutoya Lodge and Campsite lies on the banks of a tranquil backwater of the Zambezi River, approximately 24km east of Katima Mulilo, Namibia. Mutoya is the local name for Waterberry Tree, owing to the presence of these trees found along the shores of the lagoon. Due to the quiet waters of the hippo pools there is also a profusion of water birds, which the Caprivi is renowned for.

Facilities on offer includes a bar and restaurant, small seating area with DSTV, books, games and limited access to WIFI. Surrounding the restaurant is a large wooden deck, with a fire pit, offering stunning lake views and sunsets. There is also a small swimming pool for those wishing to cool off on sweltering hot days.

A variety of accommodations include self-catering en-suite custom-built luxury tents, self-catering chalets, and a campsite, where four basic safari tents are situated. Bookings can also include meals but for those on a room only basis, delicious meals are available in the restaurant. Please note that these have to be booked in advance.

The lodge is powered from the national grid (220V/50HZ), solar and gas.

Activities include: boat cruises, fishing, birding, floodplain drives, canoeing, nature walks, mountain bike hire, village walking tours and sunset cruises.

Also on offer is a nature inspired workshop/conference pavilion will be set amongst ancient indigenous trees. Mutoya Pavilion, only 20 minutes drive (25kms) from Katima Mulilo, will be able to seat up to 30 people in a spacious venue. The venue is ideal for conferences, workshops, training courses, corporate team-building and social events.

Though the pavilion has only large open-air window openings with roll-down canvas blinds, we will still offer fans for sweltering hot African summers. Snacks and meals are catered for in our main lodge bar/restaurant, only a couple of minutes walk from the pavilion.

Our "Premier" rate also includes an afternoon sunset cruise on a large pontoon boat where guests can get to see crocodiles, hippos and a myriad of birds, making this is a fabulous way to end a conference. We can organise small events and functions on the boat.
