Our Mission Statement:
We are a community driven eco camp, that strives to install a traditional and cultural experience for our guest’s. As Southern Mozambique is predominantly inhabited by the Shangaan Tribe, a tribe “ without a king” ....our mission is to hold as much of their culture and traditions through our building techniques, the understanding of self sustainability from natural food sources, song and dance, folklore and attire.
As our land is under a “ Womens empowerment association” we also offer our guests free access to all our natural fruits and our veggies from our vegetable gardens. Guests can treat themselves to Marakuja, Massala, Maferera, papai, Amarula and waterberries as the explore our camp grounds. We have built our units almost entirely from our locals collecting materials from around our lake. The old traditional way of building.. produced, by far, a cooler inside environment as the reed is not very conductive and the tiny space between each Kaniso allow the units to breath.

This wonderful Mozambican style Eco Camp, situated on the Lake’s edge in Ponta Malongane, is open to guests all year round with 3 different styled accommodations on offer. From 4 sleeper unit nestled under a majestic Natal Mahogany , that home our resident Horbills.. to a raised 2 sleeper A Frame Casita that make you feel like you are in a tree house. . Each site is individually named as to give homage for the space it holds , for what has been around for thousands of years unaffected. Using only 100% materials collected from the lake and surrounds, Each unit and site has it’s very own uniqueness with the owners attention to detail seen throughout your unit and the camp. You will not miss many amazing Simbiri wooden features scattered throughout that give the entire camp a Log Cabin feel. Lush grounds are shaded by 4 old Amarula trees that once were home to a family of elephants and we have the occasional visit from a few hippos. Keeping Nature first and building as if it was always present, You will be whisked away into a dream world that could only be experienced here At the lake - Camp Lagoa
