Camp Aussicht is situated on top of a hill overlooking Kaokoland. This small but very intimate establishment is far from any modern civilisation. Camp Aussicht is situated on top of a hill overlooking Kaokoland. This small but very intimate establishment is far from any modern civilisation. Only when you sit back in your camp chair do you realise how privileged you are to be part of the moment. Here it is all about the wilderness, solitude and inner peace. Forget cellphone and internet connectivity; uninterrupted tranquillity and endless views of rugged mountains set the stage.

Camp Aussicht is rustic, constructed out of natural rock sourced from the area. Each room is surprisingly comfortable without frills but offers the necessary luxuries one would not expect in such a remote location. Dinner, bed and breakfast are included. Bed linen and duvets are provided, but no amenities are available in the rooms. We also offer campsites that can accommodate 1 to 2 vehicles. Each site has its own shower, a pit latrine, a water tank, and a fireplace to braai/BBQ.

Water is a scarce commodity; every drop is precious. When it rains, water is carefully collected in tanks and sparingly used in the everyday running of the camp and hosting of guests.

Guests are so amazed by how little water one can shower with and still feel clean. If you are environmentally conscious, you will gain a new perspective on how effectively water can be utilised as a natural resource.

The main area and verandah perched on top of the mountain have a spectacular panoramic view. There is a shaded sitting area for guests to relax and take in the scenery.
Most mornings are perfect to have breakfast outside and watch the multitude of African hornbills that fly in for the feast, much to the amusement of the guests. Evenings are followed by dinner around the dining room table.

Camp Aussicht is one of the most environmentally sustainable camps in Namibia.
