Bushwhacked is situated just outside the old gold rush town of Barberton which has World Heritage Status for the GeoTrail and a rich history, a lot of which can still be seen and explored. The Barberton Museum is just one stop on an historical walking trail taking in several of the original 1880's gold mining houses.
The house is set in the foothills of the Makonjwa Mountains just 40 minutes from Nelspruit. This is a welcoming, comfortable and affordable place for people to relax and unwind whilst exploring the area.

If you walk out of the back door of Bushwhacked and up the mountain you’ll have a wooded valley all to yourself where you can spot a variety of animal species and bird life whilst following in the footsteps of some of the first gold prospectors on The Fortuna Mine Tunnel Trail. There is also a well-known birding area, a pocket of indigenous forest, known as 'Pedlars bush', close by. It's possible to explore the old Gold Rush town of Eureka City by quadbike or get an overview of the valley on a scenic microlight flight.
