About Buffalo Hills Mountain Lodge

Buffalo Hills Private Game Reserve is a hidden gem situated in the Drakensburg highlands near Sterkfontein Dam in the Eastern Free State.

Self-catering accommodation is offered in 3 seperate units, namely The Fishing Cottage, The Beauchef Farm House, and The Mountain Lodge. All units come equipped with comfortable beds and a fully-equipped kitchen and dining room. Other in-room facilities include a lounge area, a fireplace, TV, DStv, Wi-Fi and outside braai area.

On-site activities include fishing, mountain biking, hiking and bird watching.

Safari: Situated within the Buffalo Hills Private Game Reserve offering Self Drive 4x4 Game viewing, Hiking, Birding and Mountain Biking. Game include Buffalo, Eland, Blue Wildebeest, Impala, Blesbuck, and Reedbuck.

Family friendly: Ideal meeting place for family and friends meeting halfway between Johannesburg and Durban offering mountain biking, hiking, birding, bass fishing and self drive game viewing (4x4)

★★★★★ We had a great experience. You are able to 'switch off' immediately. The scenery is unbelievable, the food was awesome and the company even better. The night rest was nice. High quality bedding with the fresh mountain breeze. Fresh fountain water from the tap. I strongly recommend this lodge.
