Buffalo Thorn is a secluded and private self-catering, off-grid cottage on Kokopelli Farm 25km from Magaliesburg in North West, set against the mountain side with clear and vast views over the Buffelsfontein valley onto the impressive Magaliesberg mountains on the horizon.The cottage is fully equipped including hot water, fridge/freezer and stove/oven. Bedding and towels are provided. There is a braai area overlooking the valley. Swimming is available in the farm reservoir close by overlooking the valley making it the ideal place to cool off and absorb the vast view

Recharging my battery through the breathtaking sunrises, sunsets and music of nature was bliss. I appreciated the fact that solar power was used as it meant ample electricity to charge the phone and laptop, cook and boil water. The fact that WiFi was sporadic meant true relaxing. Super stay!! Neat as a pin, well equipped, absolutely worth every moment, lovely walks in nature - will definitely come back! Loved all of it!!

Buffalo Thorn cottage is absolutely beautiful. We had everything we needed except a fan, which is impossible without electricity. We happened to choose a very hot weekend. Loved our stay and will be back in winter.

Lovely cottage surrounded by peace and quiet and beautiful areas to hike in. Was very hot though trying to sleep at night and would have loved a fan but there is no electricity at the cottage at all. Some board games in the cottage would have been nice too.
