About Boshoek Bass Cottage

Boshoek Bass Cottage is situated in the mountain heart of the Eastern Free State, between Bethlehem and Fouriesburg. Discover a place where time stands still and the horizon is defined by the vast expanse of Eastern Free State tranquillity.

Built in 1926, this lovely restored farm house is fully equipped and accommodates nine guests comfortably. Oil lamps offer a romantic substitute for electricity. The cottage has a comfortable lounge and dining area with a fireplace, a fully equipped kitchen with a coal stove, gas stove and gas fridge as well as an outdoor braai area.

For the outdoor enthusiasts, bring your bass fishing gear, off-road bicycle, quad bikes and walking shoes for lovely hikes through the bushveld. This is truly a place to remember, especially for the nature lover. The price is subject to change according to quantity of people.

★★★★★ We stayed for 3 nights at Boshoek Bass cottage. It was an amazing experience for us all including the boys (4,9,11) who could run around the farm, climb mountains, helping with the fires! The views on the farm is unbelievable, and walking to the dam a MUST. ★★★★★ We had a lovely stay at Boshoek. A real old farm house with a lovely fireplace and a coal stove for warmth, gas for hot water, a cold fridge and cooking. Two big tables in the kitchen and dining room and a cosy sitting room provide ample opportunity for conversation. Best part was the morning coffee on the north facing stoep early in the morning with the most beautiful view over the mountains.
