Our location off the Ouberg Pass, just 20 km from the charming village of Montagu, is the perfect spot for your next escape.

We offer a self-catering, rustic, completely off-grid experience for solo travellers, couples or families in Bloukrans Cabin, nestled at the bottom of the Bloukrans amphitheatre.

Bloukrans Cabin accommodates a maximum of 4 people with 2 twin single beds in the bedroom, and a single bed and a day bed in the lounge for two more guests. The bathroom has a hot water shower, a flush toilet (septic tank) and a hand basin.

The open plan lounge, dining and kitchen area have sweeping views over the valley and mountains. The dining table seats 4 people, and the kitchenette is well-equipped with all you need to whip up a meal. A two-plate gas cooker, kitchen utensils, crockery & cutlery are provided. A fridge/freezer is powered by the sun. Hot water in the kitchen and bathroom is from a gas geyser. Water is from a borehole at the swimming dam.

The cabin is on stilts and has a large deck to enjoy the views. Outdoor seating is provided, or relax in the 2-man hammock. A barrel-type braai and a kettle-type barbecue serve as your outdoor kitchen on the deck.

In addition, there is a hot-water outdoor shower with views up the mountain for those wishing to make the most of the outdoor experience.

Please note that there is NO cell reception at the cabin and on most of the property. At the swimming dam, about 300m from the cabin, there is cell reception. There are also no plug points, but limited solar power is enough to power the fridge and to supply a small inverter, which can be used to charge one device at a time, like a cell phone, laptop, or camera batteries.

Guests can access most of the 900-hectare nature reserve, perfect for hiking, mountain or gravel biking and birding. Come and explore the wonders and peace of the Klein Karoo with us!
