About Berg Cottage
Berg Cottage is a charming sandstone dwelling built from blocks hewn from the mountain in 1929 by a "bywoner" in order to qualify for the hand of a local farmer's daughter. It retains the character and simplicity of that era while incorporating the comforts of today. It does not offer expensive luxury but all that you need for quiet country comfort.
Like visiting great granny's cottage from days of old. Typical Free State Sandstone bricks and a large garden to explore and look over the whole of Clarens.
