About Buffalo Hills Farm House

Buffalo Hills Private Game Reserve is a hidden gem situated in the Drakensburg highlands near Sterkfontein Dam in the Eastern Free State.

Self-catering accommodation is offered in 3 unique units, namely The Fishing Cottage, The Farm House, and The Mountain Lodge. All units come equipped with comfortable beds and a fully-equipped kitchen and dining room. Other in-room facilities include a lounge area, a fireplace, TV, DStv, Wi-Fi and outside braai area.

On-site activities include fishing, mountain biking, hiking and bird watching.

Safari: Situated within the Buffalo Hills Private Game Reserve offering Self Drive 4x4 Game viewing, Hiking, Birding and Mountain Biking. Game include Buffalo, Eland, Blue Wildebeest, Impala, Blesbuck, and Reedbuck.

Family friendly: Ideal meeting place for family and friends meeting halfway between Johannesburg and Durban offering mountain biking, hiking, birding, bass fishing and self drive game viewing (4x4)

We were fortunate enough to see the herd of buffalo and loved exploring the game farm (both on foot and by 4x4) with our children. We will definitely be back and have already booked our next stay!
