★★★★★ The Batavia is a fabulous place to stay. Warm, friendly, atmosphere and beautiful decor. We loved the eclectic interior design throughout and the stunning layout of our elegant and cosy room. We ate very well at breakfast particularly the pancakes with smoked salmon. The complimentary sherry was a very nice touch! Thank you for making our stay in Stellenbosch so memorable!

★★★★★ One arrival we were asked if we would like to into a room in the main building instead of the cottage which we had booked at no extra charge. We were happy to do so and were impressed with the room although the mix of Afrikaner furniture with modern furniture is not our taste - the room was very comfortable and we really enjoyed the breakfast. The staff were all friendly and attentive.
