There three reserves in the area are Mount Currie, Wilfred Bauer with its lovely picnic spots, and the Mountain Lake Nature Reserve. The Mountain Lake Nature Reserve is a small reserve with over 220 species of birds for bird lovers, as well as tracks and paths that provide wonderful walks. The Crystal Dam provides ample boating and angling opportunities.
