About Anford Country House
Anford House and Restaurant is ideally situated between Johannesburg and Nelspruit and the Kruger National Park just off the N4 highway and offers accommodation and bed and breakfast facilities to travelers. It is also an ideal venue for a weekend getaway with some excellent fly fishing only 2 hours from Gauteng. Anford House and Restaurant also caters for small conferences and weddings.
Anford Country house is situated in a natural Pine forest on the escarpment with several dams and waterfalls flowing next to it. All the dams are spring fed and are well stocked with trout for the fly fisherman. Scenic walks through the forest to the waterfalls and Boer war sites are for the more energetic.
Anford lies on the foot of the Steenkamps mountains and has sandstone formations. The water has cut valleys through the ancient formations and is home to some very rare fauna and flora.
Anford Country house is situated on Anford Estate in Mpumalanga between Belfast and Machadodorp on the escarpment. The original house was built in 1872 and was recently refurbished and turned into a Country house and Restaurant for the passing travelers on the N4 highway. Accommodation for 20 people in various en-suite room configurations can be catered for. A private family unit with three bedrooms is also available.
