Set on one of the biggest working Ostrich farms in Southern Africa, this AfriCamps location is one to experience. (Don’t miss the authentic ostrich tour if you want to see these amazing creatures up close.) A large portion of the farm has been made available to a wide variety of free-roaming game like zebra, springbok, blue wildebeest, kudu, impala, eland, waterbuck and nyala, and the popular ostrich tour is a short drive away on the same property. You will find 12 of our boutique glamping tents positioned around a big water dam among the free-roaming game. *Please note that Oudtshoorn is currently experiencing its worst drought in the last 100 years. Although there is ample water for your use, the dam levels may fluctuate due to this extreme drought, which can influence the number of game sightings at the dam.

Located only a 10-minute drive from Oudtshoorn center, in the middle of a pristine Karoo landscape with direct views on the Swartberg Mountains, AfriCamps Klein Karoo offers you the perfect backdrop to relax in the tranquil surroundings of this serene majestic game farm. Farmer Piet Schoeman is always proud to say that AfriCamps Klein Karoo is not an ostrich show farm but an authentic working ostrich farm where people can see and learn everything about this uniquely South African farming activity (remember to book the ostrich tour). Twenty thousand ostriches are kept mainly for the production and worldwide export of ostrich meat, leather, and feathers. Besides the ostriches, a big portion of the 10 000 hectare farm has been made available to a wide variety of free-roaming indigenous game. This is that part of the farm where you will find our tents and the wildlife here just forms another highlight for you to experience. Please note that our accommodations are not pet-friendly.
