About Adansonia Hotel

This is one of the oldest towns in Botswana and site of southern Africa's first gold rush. Francistown is a typical frontier town, strategically placed as the gateway to the north with all the main roads to Gaborone, Zimbabwe, Maun and Kazungula passing through it. It manages to maintain its character despite being Botswana's second largest urban centre and capital of the north.

                  We arrived very late in the evening and left early in the morning, so I cannot comment on any activities at the Hotel.We found the room average and even though we booked for 4 people, we had only 1 towel in our bedroom. The mattress supplied for our children was also of very poor quality and so thin they might as well have slept on the carpet.

                  My arrival went smoothly, no booking problems.The room I was given (48) is a bit cramped but I understand that all their Standard Rooms are like that.The day I arrived it was about 37 degrees so I switched on the air-conditioner. It didn't work, I looked at the remote control and saw that it was dead. The lady at reception gave me another remote. So I tried it and discovered that the air-conditioner itself didn't work.I reported this to the receptionist and she said that someone would come and show me how to use the air-conditioner.
