Acorn House is an elegant guest house located in Oranjezicht, a prime residential suburb of Cape Town set on the foot of Table Mountain. Exceptionally convenient, the city centre is a three-minute drive away, with the harbour's V&A Waterfront and the golden beaches of the Atlantic seaboard not much further. Acorn House is also within walking distance to many restaurants, with a trendy deli restaurant located just opposite.

Start your day in Cape Town with an al fresco breakfast served at the pool in summer or in the homely dining room on a cooler day. Acorn House's breakfasts are often praised as "the second best in the city" and served until noon.

We know what's up in and around our stunning Mother City; we know the best places to eat and to taste wines and will gladly assist in arranging transport and guided tours either on your own or in a group.

Whether it's lounging with your feet up in the classic lounge, sipping on a glass of wine from our selection in the well-maintained garden or by the pool, or taking in the breathtaking views of Table Bay, the city and majestic Table Mountain from the veranda and sun deck, the experience and atmosphere is laid-back. Well-chosen music adds to the mood, from South African jazz or chill-out tunes to classical music in the evening.

Acorn House is a National Monument, over 100 years old and still fresh, with the lounge, dining room and bedrooms all lovingly preserved. Few, carefully chosen modern details add to its charm. The en-suite bedrooms are light-filled and offer selected, traditional furnishings combined with elegant and timeless fabrics. Old in years but by no means in time, Acorn House also offers free Wi-Fi.
