About 2 Nights in the Karoo National Park SANParks

The Great Karoo is a vast and unforgiving landscape of which the Karoo National Park is but a small portion. Being the largest ecosystem in South Africa, the Karoo is home to a fascinating diversity of life, all having adapted to survive in these harsh conditions.

The park has a wide variety of endemic wildlife. Many species have been relocated to their former ranges - such as brown hyena, lion and Cape mountain zebra. Over 20 breeding pairs of Verreaux's eagle find sanctuary within the park. There is also a wide diversity of succulent plants and small reptiles

The park is maintained very well. After the rain the roads were repaired and in good condition. The picnic spot on the 45km loop need some attention. Trees are overgrown and mosquitoes was big problem. We understand it was because of rain and not easily controlled. Housekeeping is also good and personnel friendly and helpful.

What a bad experience with Safari Now!!! - I will never ever use them again. I wil tell everybody I know (and social media) of our bad experience. When we arrived at Sanparke Karoo National Park we were told that our booking was cancelled!!!! (Our bill was fully paid 5 days before) It took us 2 days to find somebody at SafariNow to answer a telephone to clear everything out. Luckily Sanparks did have an open chalet otherwise we should have turned back home.
