About Burchelles Track

Burchelle’s Track is 35 km from Uniondale and travels through the Klein Karoo. The 4x4 trail was originally established by botanist WJ Burchell with an ox wagon. The 20 km trail passes over three river crossings, indigenous forest and rocky inclines. The scenery is ever-changing. The trail takes about 5 hours to complete and has a difficulty grading of 3 to 4. This self-drive course requires a low range, high clearance vehicle.
