About Gardenroute Horse Riding and Baviaans trails
Moria riding school is situated on a working sheep farm 7 km outside Kareedouw (towards Joubertina), a picturesque villiage in the Eastern Cape. Kareedouw is situated on the popular Route 62 tourism route. It is the gateway to the beautiful Langekloof Mountains and only 25 minutes from the Tsitsikamma National Park.
The Moira farm has been in the Cronje family for three generations. They are not only experienced sheep farmers, but also known region’s indigenous trees, flowers and birdlife. The Cronje family is also passionate about the SA-Boerperd, the only South African horse breed. The boerperd is an incredibly tough and hardy horse, sure-footed and gentle. It is the perfect family horse and the ideal way to explore the Langkloof’s amazing views, ravines and waterfalls.
Moira riding school will tailor trips to guests needs, fitness levels and riding experience. Outrides can vary from 1.5 hours to half-day trips. Longer outrides will include a small picnic lunch in the veld. Groups are small, never more than 10 riders, and the emphasis is always on safety and enjoyment.
The little town of Kareedouw offers a couple of local business where you can enjoy lunch on the way back, or a refreshing cold beer after a lovely ride. Meet the locals of this picturesque little Eastern Cape village.
