About South Beach
Durban’s South Beach is a popular surf spot, known as a safe place for beginner surfers. Situated on the southern end of the Golden Mile, it is protected by lifeguards and shark nets.
Beachfront hotels, restaurants, nightclubs and lofty apartments line the palm-fringed shoreline. Despite development, some Art Deco architecture still remains. Grab a bunny chow and set your umbrella and towel on the sand for blissful chilling in the sunshine.
