About Idiom Wines

Idiom is a celebration of wine and words. The award-winning range of premium wines stem from the Bottega family’s Da Capo Vineyards, which are located in the southernmost part of the Stellenbosch wine region, near Sir Lowry's Pass, overlooking False Bay. The vineyards that bear the fruit of Idiom are called “Da Capo” which means “from the beginning” or “from the Cape” in Italian, a reference to the fact that the vineyards were carefully laid out and planted on the farm for the first time in 1999. Each cultivar was matched to the optimum vineyard site possible. The range consists of 18 different varietals and provides a unique and direct comparison between the famous French wines of Bordeaux and the Rhone, Tuscany and Piedmont, but expressed in the Cape terroir. Idiom Tasting Centre offers wine tastings, wine & food pairings, wine & macaron pairings, as well as, lunch in the restaurant.
