About
Shimla
Himachal Pradesh
The scenic mountain resort town of Shimla stretches across a 12km ridge in the northern state of Himachal Pradesh. Founded in 1864 as the summer capital of colonial British India, Shimla exhibits a bizarre mix of Tudorbethan and Neo-Gothic architecture seen in the colleges, research institutions, hospitals, churches, temples and palaces. Shimla’s mountainous terrain is home to South Asia’s largest international mountain biking challenge, the legendary MTB Himalaya.
