Selati Game Reserve encompasses 30 000 ha of the greater Kruger Park area. The landscape is characterised by typical savannah trees and bushveld, and is also home to the Big 5. The reserve is situated nearby to Phalaborwa, one of the largest mineral ore deposits in the world.
The endemic cycad forms part of the sprawling habitat which became a conservancy area in 2003. The region is most renowned for its abundance of sable antelope herds. Visitors can expect to see 26 species of mammals, such as zebra, giraffe, caracal, mongoose and jackal.
