About Pataleshvara Caves

The Pataleshwar Caves, also called Panchaleshvara or Bamburde, are home to an 8th century Hindu temple dedicated to Shiva that is still used by worshippers today. Carved out of a massive boulder of basalt, the structure includes vast columns, a Nandi bull and a shrine to Shiva.
