Pilansberg Game Reserve is the fourth largest game and nature park in South Africa. It boasts a variety of exotic flora and fauna, a rocky, grassland landscape, and the Big 5.

The reserve is home to over 7,000 animals and is nestled on an extinct volcanic crater. The park is malaria free and easily accessible from many places in South Africa as it is situated between the Kalahari and the Lowveld in the North West Province.

Mankwe Dam, the large central dam of Pilanesberg, is the best spot for game viewing. During dusk and dawn a variety of rare and common animals make their way to the dam, anything from lion and leopard to fleet-footed cheetah and white rhino. Pilanesberg is also a great place for bird lovers with over 300 species to be seen.

The park is open to day visitors, and offers accommodation in a number of different lodges catering for business and holiday travellers. Caravan and camping sites are also available.

Other activities include game walks, hot air balloon safaris and the nearby Sun City offering a golf course, a casino and water world entertainment.
