About Jama Masjid

India’s largest mosque, Jama Masjid, was built in 1650 and can accommodate an astonishing 25,000 followers in its square. The striking domes display an intricate chevron pattern created with red sandstone and white marble. Incredible views of Delhi can be seen from the southern tower.

Jama Masjid can be found near the Red Fort and opposite Chandni Chowk in Old Delhi. Open daily except during prayers from 12:15 - 13:45, closes before sunset.
