Description
Mthethomusha Game Reserve encompasses 8 000 hectares of magnificent nature, the Malelane mountain range, and the Big 5. Bordering Kruger National Park, Mthethomusha is approximately a four and a half hour drive from Johannesburg and is a low-risk malaria destination due to its altitude.
There is a large variety of birdlife and wildlife to be seen, including kudu, nyala, giraffe, zebra and sable. There are also over 250 San rock art sites you can choose from to explore through a guided tour. These rock sites are said to be over 1 500 years old, and the experienced rangers will provide you with the most fascinating information.
Morning and evening game drives are available in 4x4 vehicles; the evening drives are great for spotting more elusive animals such as the leopard. Guided bush walks are are also on offer and are a great way of learning about the local flora and fauna.
Overnight accommodation is available at
Bongani Mountain Lodge.
