About Castella Amare Restaurant
Castella Amare, our Castle by the Sea welcomes you, offering South African cuisine with a Portuguese flair. With beautiful ocean views, you can relax and feel at home in a building that was once our home.
Castella Amare, the original name of the beach house owned by José de Nobrega and purchased by his son and namesake, was restored and converted into a seaside restaurant in early 2010. In October 2013, business partners and long-time friends, Lino da Silva and Laurie Meiring re-launched the restaurant name and concept under the name of the original beach home.
We hope you relax and enjoy the company with Lino as your host, and chef Laurie prepares a meal of your choice.
Our kitchen is open from 10am - 8pm, and due to the nature of our business license all guests have to depart by no later than 9pm.
