About London Bridge

The current London Bridge is a concrete and steel girder bridge that replaces a succession of historical bridges crossing the River Thames. The previous structure was a 19th-century stone bridge which replaced a medieval bridge. Various wooden bridges have spanned the Thames, the earliest attributed to the Roman founders of London. The popular London Bridge Experience takes place in vaults beneath the southern buttresses. Closest Tube stations are Monument and London Bridge at the northern and southern ends.
