Lamberts Bay is a small fishing village on the west coast of South Africa. This picturesque town is less than 3 hours’ drive from Cape Town and right in the heart of crayfish territory, making it a paradise for seafood lovers.
The town’s most famous feature is Bird Island, a small island connected to the mainland by a breakwater. This island is a sanctuary for many species of seabirds including Cape gannets and cormorants, and has been developed into a popular tourist attraction. Visitors can get up close with the birds on lookouts and walkways and can find out more in the information centre. The town also features a 9-hole golf course and country club, a 4x4 trail and a museum.
