About Shangana Cultural Village
At the core of Shangana Cultural Village is a busy African market where local craftspeople work and trade their crafts.
Trained guides take guests on informative and interactive trips to villages during the daytime as well as midday tours with lunch and the famous Evening Festival in the Chief's Kraal.
Shangana was created and built by the local Shangaan people and is a source of great pride. The village preserves their rich heritage and is an example of South Africa's great cultural diversity.

Directions to Shangana Cultural Village
Shangana is an easy drive on excellent roads 5 km from Hazyview. We recommend driving slowly at night as there are often small animals such as honey badgers and mongoose crossing the road. From the centre of Hazyview, head north past Hippo Hollow over the Sabie River. Turn left onto the R535 towards Graskop – Shangana is 4 km from here on the right, clearly signposted.
