About Montagu Pass
Montagu Pass was hand built by Henry White in the 1800's to connect the ports of the Indian Ocean to the Karoo and inland towns of South Africa.
The pass is a dirt road with wonderful views and a wide variety of plants, which links George to Oudtshorn over the Outeniqua Mountains. As a scenic drive, the pass is a definite recommendation. The drive will take about an hour through the Outeniqua Mountains.
