About Velorenvlei Lagoon

This beautiful 15 km stretch of water extends from Redelinghuys to the sea. It is the largest lagoon of its kind on the West Coast.

Velorenvlei is teeming with bird life, attracting over 240 species of birds, some of the species very rare and the list of bird, flora and flora species is staggering.

Many people liken this area to a Scottish loch as it follows the river valley down towards the sea, ending in a beautiful estuarine area, another world to discover. Bring your binoculars and come and join us.
