Alifu Atoll is a large group of islands that extend 80km from north to south and 30km in width. Of Alifu’s 18 inhabited islands, the most populous is Mahibadhoo, the capital of Alifu Dhaalu. Ancient Buddhist relics and stupas still exist on many of the islands.
