About The Nightjar

A self-catering flatlet, ideally located on the owner's property. The unit has two fully antique furnished bedrooms.

The main bedroom has wooden floors and is fitted is with a double bed, a flat-screen TV with the full DStv package. The room also has a dressing table, built in cupboards, while the large window in the bedroom is fitted with both wooden bamboo blinds and a curtain.

The second bedroom comprises two three-quarter full poster antique beds. The kitchenette is attached to the second bedroom. The room is also fitted with a standard TV and two chairs. Although the kitchenette is attached to the second bedroom they are separated by a working counter.

The kitchenette has basic facilities for self-catering such as a toaster, a kettle, a gas hob, a microwave, a fridge and all crockery, cutlery and pots and pans for cooking. For those who love to read, the room also has a bookshelf with various books for you to choose from. The second bedroom also has an en-suite toilet and hand-basin.

Both bedrooms share a full bathroom, comprising a free-standing bath, a large walk-in shower, a toilet as well as a hand-basin. The double doors in the second bedroom lead out into the living area. The living area is under-cover and has a Jet-master Braai and a fully upholstered lounge suite including a three-seater and two single chairs. There is a coffee table and a six-seater antique dining room table.

This living room has stack doors that open up to an additional lounge area, which leads out onto a "stoep" with a Weber braai and four chairs and a table. The stoep boasts panoramic views of the Sundays River.

There is an abundance of birdlife for bird-watchers or alternatively, guests can enjoy long walks along the riverfront that offers beautiful morning sunrises and stunning views. It is also only a five-minute drive from the south entrance of the renowned Addo Elephant National Park.

Guests can make use of free double-canoe and enjoy fishing off the Jetty. The jetty is a floating-jetty and is fitted with a two-seater chair.

Returned again (4th time) Great Braai area, lovely décor, welcoming hosts, Home from Home!. The best of both worlds - Sunday river on one side & wildlife on the other side (Addo). See you again next year. Thanks for the lovely stay.

Spacious accommodation, but the 2nd bedroom is in fact part of the living room and kitchen, so not private. The apartment is also on the same property as the owner's house, so not completely private.Establishment Response:I have only recently opened up my private area, being the walk through for the guests to utalise the Stoop section, where they can enjoy a panaramic view of the Sundays River. Which was never used by guests before, as they have/ had their own entrance to the river. This is perhaps where the not so private comment comes from, as it is a walk through from the guests living area...
