We had a most pleasant overnight stay at Sperrgebiet Lodge.Clean, tidy and practical and a lovely welcome from Marelize. Definitely recommended. Loved the attention of the dogs!

We traveled with my Jo’burg cousin and rented two cottages. The lodgings were very clean and quite private while being close together. The kitchenettes had basic equipment and a fridge with water and milk for tea/coffee: a nice touch. Our hosts were friendly and full of good advice about where to see the daisies, where to hike, where to find provisions, and very accurate estimates of travel times and road conditions in the area. The best part was the natural surroundings: beautiful desert landscape with great sunrises and sunsets; peaceful and quiet; and three friendly dogs to keep us company!...

We loved the fact that the accommodation was clean neat and more than comfortable. It was well stocked for self-catering and we were able to have a lovely braai. We also loved the fact that was off the main road, but not far off the main road, so it was quiet and peaceful.

We have planned to stay only for 3 nights but on our way back home decided to stay another 2 days!Marelese organised a 4x4 trip through the Sperrgebiet and a guided 3 hour rowing on the Orange River! The chalet was well equipped and we enjoyed the absolute quietness on the farm.
