Nuarro Lodge is located on the Northern coastline of Mozambique – the only lodge in a bay fringing the edge of the continental shelf, which makes for world-class snorkeling and diving! Soak up the sun on the tropical, white sandy beach, go for a bush ride on a mountain bike to a secret cove for a private picnic, kayak in the mangroves or sip cocktails from your seafront chalet deck while searching for whales in the bay. All 12 sea-facing private chalets and furniture have been made using local materials, creating the delightful, relaxing environment that is the eco-lodge, Nuarro!

Each chalet has 100 m² of constructed area and was built utilizing traditional methods, creating perfect ventilation, as well as a fan. They all have indoor and outdoor showers, a lounge area, a large wooden veranda, and a private path leading to the beach and daybed. Some of the chalets have space for an extra two single beds for families.

Each chalet has a king-size bed that can be converted to large twin beds. A generous mosquito net, a desk with chairs, a comfortable lounge, and a large hammock on the veranda provide generous personal comfort. The open bathroom has a shower, sink, separate enclosed toilet, as well as an outdoor shower. There are plenty of plugs for laptops, cameras, etc to recharge 24 hours a day using our state of the art solar system.

The name of the local village is Nanatha. Everything at Nuarro was built by local people using local natural resources. The local people are co-owners of the land and by building Nuarro they are building their own future.

Nuarro and Nanatha live in harmony together as neighbours. You can easily go for a walk through the village by yourself, but you can also be accompanied by a Nuarro team member or a volunteer who is active in the village.
