The Swartberg Mountains are a World Heritage Site. Prince Albert is 400 km from Cape Town and 200 km from the nearest airport in George. Nestling against the Swartberg Mountains, it grew from a farm called Kweekvallei which was established in 1762 on the banks of a river whose source is from the sparkling springs in the Swartberg Mountains. The life-giving water was used to good effect to create an oasis in the otherwise dry Great Karoo. It still runs through the streets in bubbling furrows, nurturing fragrant gardens and adding a gentle murmur to the tranquil streets.Your hostess, Mai, offers the very best of Irish hospitality and accommodation in Prince Albert. Cead mile failte Hundred thousand welcomes. Mai’s Guest Lodge received a Certificate of Excellence for 2012, 201, 2014, 2015 and 2016 from Tripadvisor.
