a favourite time and time again but it depends on who the staff are serving on the day. Some days the service is excellent but others it is disappointing. The food is also dependent on who is cooking for that meal. The quirky vintage charm remains true to what Olympia is.

A MUST when visiting Kalk Bay. It is always our first dining stop and then we know we have arrived in the Cape and we relax and enjoy our holiday. Food excellent and the menu dependent on the daily market. Bakery also excellent.

Over the past 1.5 years that I have lived in Cape Town, I had come to love Olympia cafe. The ambience and location are great, and the food is usually excellent. However, I had such an unpleasant time there on a recent trip that I doubt I'll be back, as much as I regret to say that. We were a group of 4, and the evening started off normally. Our waiter chatted with us cheerfully, and brought us water. He then took our order for wine, and a tea for one of our party.
