About Royal Opera House

Situated in Covent Garden, the Royal Opera House is a major performing arts and home of The Royal Ballet, The Royal Opera, and the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House. Built in 1732 and often referred to as “Covent Garden”, it famously staged Handel's first season of operas in 1735. Many of his operas and oratorios were specifically written for and premiered at the Royal Opera House.
